A Lumpkin woman was recently arrested for allegedly staging a fake robbery in order to steal money from the store she manages in Buena Vista.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Michele Taylor, manager of the Family Dollar store in Buena Vista, called 911 on Monday, April 24, and said that when she got in her car to take a store deposit to the bank, an armed man wearing a mask and dark clothing was in the back seat and told her to drive.
Her story was that he forced her to drive to an unfamiliar road out in the county and ordered her to pull over. He then robbed her of the deposit money (approximately $8,000) before getting into a car that was parked nearby.
