The Marion County community was shocked and saddened by the death of two teenagers over the last week.
Anthony Robert Bair, 17, died on Wednesday, June 7 after a vehicle accident. As this issue of the newspaper was going to press Tuesday evening, a funeral service was being held for the rising Marion County High School senior on Eagle Field.
Then on Saturday, June 10, Tyrek Weaver, 15, a rising freshman, drowned in an accident at Lake Blackshear. The Journal had not received funeral plans for Weaver at press-time.
In addition to reaching out to the families independently, the community sought ways to come together to help them collectively, as well as to help their grieving friends and classmates. The Marion County School System offered counseling, w...
