Fathers Matter

 I'm sure most of my fellow fathers have gotten some really interesting presents for Father's Day over the years - especially when your young kid picks out the gift.
 I can recall having my mother buy my dad a catcher's mitt. I was pitching for the local "Pee Wee" team and was sure he'd love to be able to squat down in the yard and help me practice.
 To his credit, he at least pretended to be thrilled when he opened it. He then proceeded to spend hour upon hour, day after day, crouched down or on his knees, fielding pitches. He even took the blame when I tossed one a little too high and the ball ricocheted off the front steps and busted a window.
