According to the Georgia Forestry Commission, total economic output of the forest industry in the state is around $291.1 billion. Our region of Southwest Georgia is big part of that, which is why area resident and longtime local forester R.T. Lumpkin led the establishment of an annual Forestry & Wildlife Expo last year.
The second annual event was held last Saturday, August 12 at Marion County Middle-High School and it was huge. With around 450 people, attendance was up by around 150 from the inaugural event.
