Marion Co Commission to manage road grading and maintenance for Fort Moore

The Marion County Commission is now in charge of road grading and maintenance for Fort Moore, formerly Fort Benning.
Fort Moore leaders met with officials from the municipality of Marion County, Chattahoochee County, and Smiths Station last Thursday, August 3 to formalize six Inter-Governmental Support Agreements intended to reduce cost and maintain or improve existing installation support services during a signing ceremony.
Marion County’s agreement with Fort Moore is that Marion County will provide road grading and maintenance to the roads on Fort Moore. However, it won’t be the county’s Road Department doing the work. There will be an outside contractor handling all aspects of this project.
