Schley County High School backed up its No. 1 ranking last Friday, Sept. 1 by stunning No. 3 ranked Early County in a 30-0 shutout in front of a big crowd in Wildcat Stadium.
The Wildcats, who had been having a bit of an issue finishing early drives, set the tone very early in this game. Early County tried an early trick with an onside kick on the opening kickoff. It didn't go as planned. Schley fielded the kick and used the good field position to quickly strike for a score. Four plays into the game quarterback Jay Kanazawa tossed a 13-yard pass to Jalewis Solomon in the corner of the endzone. Miguel Yanez-Rueda's extra point made it 7-0 after only 46 seconds of official play.
Schley then executed its normal "pooch" kickoff with Carson Westbrook tackling the fielder...
