The Class A Division II No. 1 ranked Schley County High Wildcats travelled to Cochran last week to battle Class A Division I No. 4 ranked Bleckley County. The battle of ranked teams did not disappoint, as there were multiple lead changes that led to overtime before the Cats came out on top 48-42.
It's another good sign for the Wildcats, who at this time last year were off to a slow 1-2 start. Now, they're 3-0 and have beaten both the teams they lost to last season (Bleckley won last year's contest 17-0).
"This time last year when we were 1-2, we were sort of thinking, 'Hey, we thought we had a good team, but how good are we really? What's going on?'," said Head Coach Darren Alford. "Now, we're playing with a high level of confidence."
