More than 350 runners from 15 schools raced in the 9th Annual Marion County Middle-High School Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16. Higher-classification schools such as Northside-Warner Robins (6A), Shaw (4A), Crisp County (3A), Peach County (3A), and Worth County (2A) competed with many local and area teams.
Varsity Boys
There were plenty of highlights in the varsity boys race, including a new course record of 16:58 set by overall individual winner Jesus Gutierrez of Northside. Region 6 teams with Top 10 medal earners were Furlow Charter (Dennis Gonzalez, 8th ), Marion County (Brandon Hernandez, 9th ), and Schley County (Luis Sanchez, 10th ).
