This was my third year being involved with Georgia Run for the Fallen (GRFF) – see story on the front page for details. Normally, I write about the runners only as a way of sharing the group’s mission. However, this year the GRFF Family specifically requested that I do something to highlight a specific runner – 12-year-old Juan Hernandez, who is a 7th grader at Marion County Middle-High School.
Juan is a member of the MCMHS cross country team coached by my wife, Michelle Harris, and heard about the run through that connection. He asked if he could run with the group on the third day and was warmly welcomed by the team.
