Marion County may soon see a significant number of "solar farms" popping up.
Heart Pine Solar, LLC has applied for conditional use permits (CUPs) for proposed solar farm projects on 11 pieces of property owned by three separate local families/residents. The parcels range in size from 12 acres to 391 acres (although the requests do not specifically state how much of the acreage would be used for solar panels).
The properties in question are located on Harbuck Pond Road, Walls Road, Walter Wells Road, Hartage Ford Road, C.R. McCorkle Road, and Morgan Ford Road.
