Last week The Journal reported on proposed solar projects in Marion County by Heart Pine Solar. This week several more notices for related public hearings are in the newspaper, showing that the project is even more significant that previously reported.
The new requests for hearings bring the total number of parcels involved to 14.
According to Amy Lobel, Senior Manager of Strategic Communications with the AES Corporation, "The project site consists of approximately 1,390 acres, or which approximately 757 are anticipated to be fenced-in for the solar project."
