Cheek Reaches Milestone, 500 Wins

Schley County Head Baseball Coach Chuck Cheek reached a milestone on Monday, April 29 that puts him in rare company, as few ever make it. His Wildcats provided him with his 500^th win (and 501^st ) by beating Towns County in both ends of a double-header in the Sweet 16 round of the State Playoffs.
What's more impressive is that he didn't get to 500 by simply coaching for a very long time. At age 51, he's currently in his 22^nd year as a head coach, so his teams have averaged 22.7 wins per year. Oh, and they've picked up two state titles, been state runner-up, and won a dozen region championships along the way.
