About one third of the population of Schley County filled the Storm Dome at Southwest Georgia State University in nearby Americus to attend the graduation ceremony of the Schley County High School class of 2024.
A welcome was given by graduate Brenda Jacobs, who congratulated her classmates and exclaimed, "We made it!"
Superintendent Brian Hall then told the graduates that on this day they had reached a tremendous milestone in their lives. He reminded them of the phrase that "Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat."
