Schley County High worked on the preseason kinks in an away scrimmage with Lamar County last Friday, August 9. Lamar outscored Schley 30-20 but the Wildcats showed plenty for fans to be excited about.
"Lamar County has a really good team and they are fast," said Head Coach Darren Alford. "We got down early, but after we got down, we started picking it up and I was really pleased with how we rallied and got better in the second half. ... Overall, it was a good scrimmage. We have a lot of new kids. We saw some things we need to correct, but we'll do that and we'll be okay. We have the potential to be a good football team. We just have to keep getting better."
