A couple of weeks ago I wrote a column on Being Prepared. Then Hurricane Helene came. The approach of a Hurricane tends to exacerbate activities. The Hurricane event in Marion County was a bit of Serendipity.
The prospect of widespread destruction and injuries tends to put things in perspective. What is Important; What is the Capability; What is the Task, becomes the focus. As the Hurricane approached, the pieces started to fall in place.
The "Important" is the people. Nothing works without the operator in the loop. The reality is in the middle of a storm, Auto-Pilot is not a good idea. It is the trained, ready, and prepared personnel who get the job done.
