The Sumter Electric Membership Club Foundation recently made a significant impact in our communities by awarding nine grants totaling over $39,000 to local organizations. These funds aim to enhance the quality of life for residents in Sumter EMC's service territory. The Foundation awarded the following grants following their September meeting:
1. Marion County Board of Education received a $4,810 grant for new safety and training equipment for high school baseball teams.
2. Deep South Canine Rescue, located in Ellaville, received $5,000 for a heating/cooling unit for their kennel building which will improve conditions for rescue animals and volunteers.
