Chattahoochee County Commissioner Damon Hoyte has followed up one lawsuit against the county he serves with another lawsuit in which he seeks $5 million.
Hoyte originally filed suit in Chattahoochee County Superior Court to ask the court to review a judgement rendered in a case against him in the local Magistrate Court. Hoyte was issued a citation in November 2022 for having a mobile home on less than five acres. He was originally fined $200 and ordered to remove the home within 10 days or face additional fines of $100 per day.
However, he later requested to change his plea, did not remove the mobile home, and is asking the Superior Court to review the judgement, which he believes was unfair.
