BV Council Proposed Cracking Down on Loitering

  It may soon be illegal to "hang out" outside of convenience stores in Buena Vista and the penalties for doing so could be severe.
 The Buena Vista City Council has proposed a new Loitering Ordinance to "regulate loitering activities on the premises of convenience stores".
 Council members held the first reading of the ordinance during their recent monthly meeting. A second reading will be held in a future meeting open to the public prior to an official vote.
 Loitering is traditionally defined as "the act of standing or waiting around idly without apparent purpose in a public place."
