The Marion County High Eagles dropped a few games to solid non-region teams last week in their final games before the State Playoffs, which start this week.
Crisp: Marion loses a heartbreaker 6-3 against Crisp County. Marion gave Crisp a run for their money, but it ultimately felt like it was just Crisp's night, as they sent their seniors out with a win. The Eagles then got a much-needed day off before closing out the regular season with a doubleheader against Cook County.
Offensively, the Eagles were led by Jayden Richardson, who scored the first run of the game to set the tone early. He later ripped a double in the fourth and came through in the clutch with a two-out single in the seventh to keep Marion's hopes alive. Richardson also made several key...
