After a rocky preseason that included the departure of several athletes, first-year Chattahoochee County High School Head Football Coach Mike Nash wasn't sure what to expect last Friday when the Panthers officially opened the regular season by hosting Mt. Zion High.
They didn't get the win (27-6 loss), but the coach was certainly pleased with his team's performance.
"After our last preseason scrimmage I would have had to say I've never been more disappointed in my entire coaching career," said Coach Nash, before quickly adding, "After our first game I can say I've never been more proud of a team."
They took to the field with only 18 players and obviously faced a huge challenge.
