Lady Cats have 8-2 lead erased by storm
The Schley County High School varsity softball team came as close as possible to winning a game without officially getting the "W" last Thursday when they hosted region rival Taylor County.
The Lady Wildcats were beating the strong Taylor squad 8-2 with 2 outs and a 3-2 count on the batter in the fifth inning. However, a nasty thunderstorm rolled in and stopped the action. They need just 1 out (just 1 strike) for the game to be over.
The games we all love wouldn't be possible without the rules for them, but this one left many folks shaking their heads. Teams must complete 5 innings for games to be considered complete. So, the Lady Cats' fine showing last Thursday turned out to be in a game that will nev...
