Schley County High scored a 28-21 win over Crawford County in Roberta last Friday to improve to 3-3 overall and to stay atop the early region leader board at 2-0. They were down by a touchdown heading into the final quarter and rallied for the win.
"It was their Homecoming and they came out of halftime fired up and won the third quarter," said Head Coach Darren Alford. "I asked they guys going into the fourth quarter (down 14-21) if they still wanted to keep their goal of winning the region championship and told them we have to do it one game, one quarter at a time. They fought hard and came back to win it. Our stats aren't real pretty but we had the will to win. I'm proud of their fight and I'm proud of the job the coaches did, too."
