The Sumter EMC Foundation recently awarded the Ellaville/Schley County Recreation Authority $5,000 for improvements to the playground area and turf flooring for batting cages.
"Having a strong recreation department is instrumental in providing opportunities for youth that they may not otherwise have, and we are proud to be a small part of the effort to enhance their facilities," said Andrea Walker, Chairman of the Sumter EMC Foundation.
The Foundation has recently awarded a total of $25,000 in grants to local organizations across multiple counties within Sumter EMC's service territory. The other recent grants included:
