The Schley County High School varsity football team has won the Region 6 Championship. As champions, they will represent the region as the No. 1 seed in the State Playoffs.
The race for the region title was very competitive this year, with three teams - Schley County, Taylor County, Macon County - still in the mix going into the final games of the regular season last Friday. After the last games, three teams were all tied with region records of 5-1. That led to the use of a preestablished tiebreaker system.
