Chattahoochee Co Awarded $600,000 for Trail

The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County has been awarded a $600,000 grant for a "Rails to Trails" style path to the local Roscoe Robinson Recreation Center, which would then link to the trail system on Fort Benning and eventually connect to more trails in nearby Columbus.
"Our short-term goal for the trail system is connecting our community to the Recreation Center, as our current sidewalk ends at the Public Library and this grant will take it from the Recreation Center toward Fort Benning," said County Manager Thomas Weaver. "We would love to see a nice 'Park and Walk' area somewhere on Broad Street where people can park and go out for an evening walk that brings the trail together. Hopefully, we can make that evolve pretty quickly as well."...
