Starting a small business in a small town and making it profitable enough to stay open for the long haul is difficult. When entrepreneurs make it work, it's a beautiful thing for the community they serve.
Sometimes, the beauty is literal, as the services help people feel confident about they way they look. Such is the case with Ellaville Beauty Salon, where owner Ellen Willis is currently celebrating her 50th year.
However, this isn't her "swan song" as she plans to keep going for many years to come.
"I plan to keep working as long as my health permits or God calls me home," said Willis. "I have no desire to retire."
