The Georgia Department of Education is recognizing 162 graduating seniors across Georgia as 2026 Georgia Scholars, State School Superintendent Richard Woods announced recently.
Cash Jones of Marion County High School has been selected as a Georgia Scholar for the Class of 2026. Cash is the son of James and Melissa Gilliland. He is an outstanding student and talented musician and actor. Over the years, he has starred in numerous roles at the Springer Opera House (Georgia's State Theatre), has traveled and performed with the Voices of the Valley Youth Chorus, and has been selected twice for a prestigious and exclusive summer program through the Juilliard School.
