The Schley County High varsity baseball team had a good final week of the regular season, beating Pike County and Telfair County to improve to 20-7. The Region 6 champs will head into the state playoffs this week. They will face Irwin County in the first round (Wednesday, April 22, Thursday, and April 23, Time TBA at deadline).
Pike: Schley turned a close game in its favor with a 5-run 5th inning and won by a final score of 7-2. Cameron Player's 2-run double was a big part of the big inning.
Schley only had 1 more hit than Pike (7-to-6) but made them count.
Player led the way at the plate (2-for-3, home run, double, 3 RBI).
Adding 1 hit each were Oscar Lloyd, Jacob Little, Julian Salazar (RBI), Caleb Renfroe, and Hunter Jordan....
