The Chattahoochee County High varsity football team prepared for the start of the 2026 season with a scrimmage last Friday.
As the stadium lights flickered on for the first time this season, the Panthers faced an immediate baptism by fire. Visiting them for the preseason scrimmage was Miller County High School - a formidable squad returning the vast majority of their veteran starters.
Last year, the Chattco Panthers knew all too well how a slow start felt. However, after stumbling through preseason scrimmages and dropping four of their first five regular-season games, they mounted a gritty late-year surge, winning four of their final five to punch a ticket to the Class A State Playoffs.
