New BV Mural Celebrates Area History and Future

There is no doubt that by now many of this newspaper's readers have spotted the new mural in downtown Buena Vista at 111 North Broad Street. Some have even stopped to take a closer look and a photo or two. It's a huge woodland scene with many colorful characters.
However, at last Thursday's dedication ceremony, the speakers told of how it is much more than just a pretty scene. "The Longleaf Forest: Our History and Our Future" represents just that - the area's past and the vision for its future.
