The Chattahoochee County High School Panthers made school history last week by advancing to the second round (Sweet 16) of the GHSA State Baseball Playoffs for the first time.
They also represented Region 6 very well, as they were the region's No. 4 seed and knocked off Glascock County, the No. 1 seed for Region 5, on the road. The Panthers are the only No 4 seed that survived the first round.
They were powered by pitching in their sweep of the best-of-three series, as Alex Prevost and Zachary Parker allowed only 1 run in the two victories.

In the playoff series opener, senior hurler Alex Prevost tossed a complete-game two-hitter to earn the win. He struck out 9 and only walked 1 batter.
