Local governments receive much money for roads, infrastructure

The first round of Transportation Investment Act 2 (TIA2) collections are in for 2023 and the funds collected have met projected expectations.
In the first quarter of 2023, $4,037,153 in TIA2 funding has been collected throughout the River Valley Region.
Area government agencies earned the following amounts thru the transportation sales tax for the first quarter of this year, January thru March:
· Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Commission: $62,062.
· City of Buena Vista: $10,088
· Marion County Commission: $182,873
· City of Ellaville: $13,687
· Schley County Commission: $91,286
· City of Lumpkin: $9,548
