The Marion County Commission promoted Connie Harris last week by removing the "interim" designation from her title as County Manager.
While it's a new official title for her, she's not exactly new. Harris has been serving as the interim manager since Will Johnson left last October to become the Director of Planning for the City of Columbus.
Harris said she has really enjoyed meeting Marion County residents and working with them to resolve various issues.
She knows that the job isn't easy and that the county has been facing some tough challenges in recent years, but she is confident the local government can make significant progress.
