When you think of wastewater you don’t normally think of celebrations. However, officials of the City of Buena Vista were joined by various federal and state officials last week to do just that. They celebrated the start of construction of a new wastewater treatment facility with speeches and a special groundbreaking ceremony.
“It’s a great day in Buena Vista,” said Mayor Kevin Brown, who noted that it’s been a long (and expensive) road to get to the groundbreaking. He thanked Congressman Sanford Bishop, Georgia USDA Rural Development Director Reggie Taylor, and a host of other supporting cast members who helped the city come up with the money to pay for the huge $12.25 million project.
