Marion County High School improved to 2-0 last Friday, August 25 by beating Southland Academy 33-21 in front of an excited crowd in Eagle Stadium. The visiting Raiders scored with less than a minute on the clock to make the score not look as lopsided, but it was a dominating win for the Eagles.
"It was a pretty dominating win," said Head Coach Billy Law. "I was a little worried about having a letdown after we opened with an emotional win (16-15 over Class 4A Shaw High), but our guys assured me that wasn't going to happen. They came out ready to play. I'm as proud of them as I could be."
