The Ellaville City Council discussed the upcoming municipal election (or the need not to have one), agreed to keep the local property tax rate the same, and heard some exciting news about a $34,000 literacy grant.
At the end of the year three Ellaville City Council seats are turning over to new council members without an election being necessary.
District One was held by Leslie Hayes-Minter, who is not running again. Sarah Holloman qualified for the seat and is unopposed.
District two was held by Mary Lynn Wilder-Ornelas, who is also not seeking reelection. Janet Ellis qualified and will hold the position.
District four is held by Greg Dominy, who will continue serving on the Council since he is unopposed.
