The No. 1 ranked Schley County High Wildcats strolled into the quarterfinals (Elite 8) round of the State Playoffs last Friday, Nov. 17 with a blowout win - 49-23 - at home over Lincoln County in the second round.
The visiting Red Devils held their own for most of the first half (7-7 after 1 quarter, 21-14 with 5:30 left in the 2nd quarter), but the Wildcats dominated the rest of the game.
"Our offense was on fire," said Head Coach Darren Alford. "Coach Richard McCorkle (Offensive Coordinator) and our staff did a great job of adjusting to what their defense gave us."
Quarterback Jay Kanazawa had a huge night, completing 30-of-33 passes for 335 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions (QB rating 140.3).
