Schley's Spectacular Season Ends in Close Loss in Semifinal

 Schley County High's spectacular season came to an end last Friday, Dec. 1 in the semifinals of the State Playoffs in front of a huge crowd at Bowdon High, as the Wildcats came up just short - 35-31 - in a rematch of last year's State Championship Game.
 It was a very competitive game, with sevenlead changes, but the Blue Devils managed to outlast the Wildcats in the shootout.
 "We had our chances," said SCHS Head Coach Darren Alford. "We got inside the red zone three times and didn't score. If we score on any of those we win."
 The Cats finish the season 13-1 and as Region 6 champs. They recorded the first undefeated regular season in school history and entered the playoffs ranked No. 1.
