The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County elected officers, discussed the open county manager position, set qualifying fees for the next local election, and discussed other items during its first meeting of 2024.
County Commission Chairman Charles Coffey was reelected by his fellow commissioners as the chairman for 2024. Timothy Biddle was reelected as the vice-chairman. Coffey noted that the chairman has "no more say" in how the local government operates, while adding that it is an "honor to serve as the chair."
They have not yet replaced former County Manager Ken Riner, who recently resigned, but they are currently seeking applicants and accepting resumes. They have several prospects so far.
