When church members gathered for a day of service at the First United Methodist Church of Buena Vista last Saturday, they figured they'd be doing their part to clean up the property and take care of the church. They had no idea they would also find evidence from a recent burglary.
As longtime church member Herbert Tante operated a weed-eater, he spotted something in the bushes just outside the church building. It turned out to be around $1,750 worth of prescription drugs recently stolen from the nearby drugstore.
However, Becky Powell of Becky's Drugstore said it was only around 1/4 of the drugs that had been stolen, which touched off much speculation of the mystery of why some of the drugs were left behind by the thieves.
