The 20th Annual Holy Smoke Christian Grilling Competition was held April 6 at the old school in the Centerpoint Community of Webster County. The event was sponsored by Macedonia Baptist Church and supported by other area churches and many surrounding communities.
It was a beautiful day with the weather cooperating all day long and the crowd was great as well. This year, there were 13 church teams competing for the Grand Champion trophy. Eight of the BBQ teams also had a cornhole team that competed for a championship trophy.
Gospel singing began at 10 a.m. and lasted until about 5 p.m. with well-known singers from the surrounding area and as far away as Jacksonville, Florida. Each of these individuals or groups gave of their time to help in this mission project. They...
