The members of Marion County High School's Class of 2024 marched into the gym as the MCMHS Band played Pomp & Circumstance to begin their Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, May 18. Honor graduate Keyonna Rhodesofficially kicked off the event with a welcome message and prayer.
Salutatorian Cailyn Colvin compared to life to a forest, saying it can be difficult to know which way you are or should be going, but that they have all found paths forward.
She described their teachers as guides to the beaten paths and parents as humble hikers, also there to offer support.
Those paths for some included dual-enrollment in college classes, and for some work-study programs, etc., as they embraced opportunities for growth and discovery.
