Flint Energies donated $60,000 to Marion County to support a variety of community development efforts within the county. Flint made the contribution from funds generated by its former consumer-members' unclaimed capital credits.
The monies will be used to purchase park and playground equipment for the Josh Gibson Park which will be constructed soon in the City of Buena Vista, to develop tourism through the Marion County Development Authority to provide a public service event for the residents and families of Marion County, and for the Chamber of Commerce to create a new map for Buena Vista and improve signage entering the City of Buena Vista.
