The City of Buena Vista will host a Public Forum on Thursday, June 13 to discuss solid waste (garbage) bills and the increase recently passed by the City Council. It will be held at the Josh Gibson Center, 116 Rogers Street, at 6 pm.
The City Council voted on May 7 to move forward with a $6 increase for solid waste collection, which will bring the total monthly fee for customers to $21.50. Officials said this is needed due to an increase in the city's cost from GFL Environmental.
However, they did not specifically say when the $6 increase will take effect, which is expected to be covered during the Public Forum.
