Failure to follow the current traffic pattern at a dangerous intersection in Cusseta caused another death on Sunday, July 15.
According to reports, a 16-year-old female failed to stop at the stop sign at US Highway 27/Lafayette Road and Georgia Highway 520. Her vehicle was hit by an 18-wheeler and she died in the accident.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, there are two to three fatal accidents at the intersection each year. Currently traffic does not stop on the four-lane. There are stop signs on each side of the intersection for those wishing to cross the four-lane 520 (or turn onto it).
