Marion County High continued to look like a much-improved team last week when the Eagles hosted their second preseason scrimmage - a 35-7 win over Columbus High.
Head Coach Billy Law said they've played a lot of new/young players in the preseason and he believes they've "created some depth" and have some younger players who should be able to step in when needed during the regular season.
"We had two defensive starters out (both expected to be ready for the season opener) and we played three sophomores and one freshman on defense at times," Coach Law said. "Still, our defensive front was pretty good. We've got to start tackling better but we're making progress."
