Additional Arrest Made in Recent Wild Shootout

The Buena Vista Police Department recently made an additional arrest in the "wild shootout" that happened on July 31. James Gooding, 19, of Buena Vista had been named as a suspect but remained a fugitive until he was arrested last Thursday, August 15.
As previously reported, Gooding was allegedly involved in a shootout in front of multiple witnesses that left bystanders in shock. One witness, whose family was driving down Third Avenue, saw two vehicles cross Oliver Street (also known as Highway 137 and Dr. Deryl Hart Highway) into the entrance of the Industrial Park area as gunfire erupted between them. In addition to the sound of the shots, they heard glass breaking and saw smoke.
