Chatt Commission discusses Taxes, Roundabout, City Hall

 The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County discussed a wide range of items and heard from speakers during its recently monthly work session (non-voting meeting).
 The commissioners also held their second public hearing on the proposed millage rate of 8.512. It was noted that it's within 1/100th of a mill of the current rate (8.502), so it would essentially remain the same rather than be viewed as a tax increase.
 According to the projections in the Tax Digest & Five-Year History of Tax Levy the county recently released, the slightly higher rate would actually generate a little less total revenue. They estimate that the new rate would bring in $544,588 in property taxes, which is $572 less for a total decrease of 0.1% in total...
