Schley County High gave the Homecoming crowd a thrill last Friday by crushing region foe Crawford County 53-21. The Wildcats led 21-0 after the first quarter and cruised to victory.
They started with a bang, as Kendall Sims returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a TD.
"We challenged the kids to come out quick and get a lead and they responded to the challenge," said Head Coach Darren Alford. "Our defense was really good in the first half and looked improved in areas. (Defensive Coordinator) Greg Smith did a great job and (Offensive Coordinator) Richard McCorkle always has our offense ready. ... Our special teams play continues to improve, too."
