The Schley County High Lady Wildcats swept the Claxton Tigers in the second round (Sweet 16) of the State Softball Playoffs last week to advance to the State Championship Tournament, a double-elimination event being held this week.
As this newspaper was being distributed, the Lady Cats were schedule to play Clinch County on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 11 am. If they win that game, they will play the winner of the Irwin County/ECI game on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 1 pm. If they lose, they will play the loser of that same match-up on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 5 pm.
Other tentative games are scheduled until the Championship on Saturday, Nov. 2. The other teams in the "Elite Eight" are Metter, Lanier County, Screven County, and Georgia Military.
